The previous SFS intec catalogue had grown over time, and SFS had already identified various areas for improvement in terms of clarity, user-friendliness and design. In addition, the individual market organisations sometimes had different publications that were designed and produced independently of the parent company.
SFS intec therefore commissioned INFOLOX GmbH to analyse and design the catalogue, taking into account the overall communication mix and developing a layout that was PIM-compatible, automatable and user-oriented. The special feature here was the unique product presentation, which was intended to reflect and do justice to SFS's focus on application expertise rather than simply being a straightforward screw catalogue.
Even before the kick-off workshop, SFS intec conducted an internal user survey with the support of INFOLOX to assess initial interest. INFOLOX supplemented this internal survey with a detailed publication analysis and an external user survey. In two workshops, the requirements for the new concept were first defined in close cooperation with SFS intec. In the next project step, INFOLOX created sample pages and presented them together with the overall concept to the various market organisations in a final presentation. The InDesign documents created by INFOLOX then served as the basis for the implementation process from the EPIM PIM system of Viamedici-Software GmbH. The new concept is particularly notable for its optimal navigation and the new, unified product presentation. The modern layout was created in line with the corporate design, allowing the new information products to integrate perfectly into the existing design environment.
"The INFOLOX slogan 'A catalogue or the catalogue?' perfectly sums up the question we asked ourselves before starting the project. We could have had any agency design any old catalogue. However, our ambition was for our information products to reflect the high quality of our products and services. We are very satisfied with INFOLOX's work and our new catalogue, and we have received a lot of positive feedback."
