"Excellence connects" – this is the slogan of Wakol GmbH, the expert in flooring materials from Pirmasens. This claim is also what has connected Wakol and INFOLOX for many years. Wakol has been relying on infolox's expertise and experience for just as long. This claim also includes, first and foremost, innovation: following a thorough relaunch, the Wakol website was migrated to the Omnichannel Box, infolox's Digital Experience Platform (DXP). Based on the existing PIM system implemented by INFOLOX specifically for Wakol, the online presence was modernised throughout.
At the heart of the new DXP platform is the online product catalogue in 13 languages. The fastest way to access it is via the intuitive search function – intuitive thanks to the optimised real-time results preview and the display of search results in different facets. The intuitive search takes visitors directly to the relevant page – for products, this is the product detail page with relevant details, videos, downloads, etc. for different target groups. In order to cater to different access interests, visitors can reach the content in various ways: in addition to the search function, there is of course access via the product navigation, which is also intuitively designed, as it is based on application scenarios. Further access to product-related content is provided by the product highlights, connected systems, videos and applications. The most important downloads, the "product information", are also generated in real time from the PIM as PDF files and loaded into the DXP platform. The notepad for saving favourites serves as a central conversion hub for generating customer enquiries.
The product data is supplemented by a comprehensive contact module with facets and Google Maps integration, enabling every customer to quickly find their direct contact at Wakol.
Of course, corporate content is also included: company information, news, job advertisements and much more are made available to visitors. Social media channels are comprehensively integrated: whether Twitter, YouTube or Instagram – current posts and videos are transferred directly to the website via API.
This is where the DXP architecture of the Omnichannel Box from INFOLOX comes into play. It optimally links data and content from different categories and sources in a single system with flexible components such as PIM, MAM, CMS or web shop. At its core is the INFOLOX Product Content Experience Hub – for the perfect product experience, this high-performance technology brings together product data, media assets and editorial content at all levels and generates all the necessary outputs, from online and B2B exchange formats to print. The Omnichannel Box presents prospective and existing customers with everything they need to be convinced of your products and services, all from a single source. Whether product details, applications, references, samples, media, individual prices, upselling and cross-selling, sets, configurations, documentation, instructions, framework agreements, invoices, promotions, contacts, etc. – INFOLOX brings everything together in the Product Content Experience Hub. And from there, it sends it in the optimal, individual combination to freely designable pages, search engines, intelligent finders, notepads, shopping baskets, quotation requests, download centres, customer portals – tailored to specific target groups from market and language to individual customers – in real time, relevant and rich.
The DXP architecture
The product data is regularly pushed into the product data storage (SOLR) of the DXP platform in 13 languages. There, the product data is supplemented by content, structures, functions and assets from a headless CMS and output via the integrated page builder in the front end. We operate the entire solution based on the Omnichannel Box infrastructure in the private cloud of infolox.
