INFOLOX is responsible for the detailed layout and automated creation of the machine pages for Metabo's 2014 product catalogue.

As Metabo's slogan "work. don't play." makes clear, Metabo does not compromise when it comes to choosing partners. Accordingly, after the presentation of the proposed solution, Metabo commissioned INFOLOX with its implementation.
The Metabo project team had already carried out extensive conceptual preparatory work in the run-up to the commission. The task was to adapt the already automated publication process to the new design specifications. Thanks to Metabo's pioneering designs and INFOLOX's extensive experience and expertise in the conception and implementation of dynamic publishing solutions, the basic templates and publishing processes for the future production of the machine pages at Metabo were implemented in just eight weeks.
First, Metabo's design proposals were refined by INFOLOX in Adobe InDesign, followed by the definition of the different page types and rules for the automated creation of the machine pages.
At the same time, Metabo experts set up a publication for XML export of the product catalogue in the PIM system. INFOLOX developed the publishing environment for Metabo to match the export. The data from the PIM system is now processed via XSLT 2.0 transformation and imported into InDesign via the viaConnect publishing tool. After import, the directories and indexes are generated with page references.
Metabo trusts omnichannel specialist INFOLOX, which means that the new Metabo print catalogue is created entirely automatically in the publishing process for the product pages; only the special pages are created and inserted manually. Nevertheless, it offers a high degree of flexibility for subsequent fine-tuning and translation.
