KIEHL shines with new B2B PXP featuring headless PIM and CMS from infolox

Composable B2B Product Experience Portal (PXP)

KIEHL, the internationally active expert for clean solutions, is implementing its new, multilingual online presence with the Omnichannel Box from infolox. With the integrated solution for product and company content, KIEHL receives PIM, DAM, CMS and print rendering from a single source from infolox. The diverse range of products and solutions for professional cleaning and care in the building and vehicle sectors are thus presented in a new light, with numerous powerful service elements creating a comprehensive user experience.

To this end, the different information interests of the various target groups are optimally served according to product ranges, industries and areas of application – through specific content structures and interactive product finders. The B2B online platform is rounded off by print automation, a download centre for products and applications, a seminar manager and a contact finder. The EPIM PIM system from Viamedici is used as the PIM/DAM module of the Omnichannel Box for KIEHL.

One challenge in designing and implementing the new online platform was not only to present the KIEHL product range in a way that was optimised for the target group, but also to illustrate the extensive know-how on the various cleaning processes and methods. The application procedures developed specifically for KIEHL products and their areas of application are generated as PDF instructions from the PIM and are also presented in a structured manner on the online platform. In addition, all products on the platform have the supplementary documents required for chemical products, such as product information, safety data sheets and operating instructions.

Another special feature for data modelling resulted from the multiple use of products in different areas of application, each with its own appropriate application method. For this purpose, the products in question are sold in suitable packaging units (bottles, canisters, barrels), which meant that the resulting combinations of liquid and packaging also had to be modelled in the PIM system.

Particularly noteworthy are the global product finder, which clearly displays all products according to application areas and specific attributes per application area on a single page, and the international download centre, which offers specific access to product-related documents in over 20 languages. For example, a customer in the building cleaning sector can download the documentation on the German website in all other languages that they may need for non-German-speaking employees.

Another highlight is the information centre, which, in addition to the usual news and trade fairs, also includes a separate seminar section. All KIEHL seminars are listed and described in detail, including the next scheduled dates and locations – and they can also be booked directly online. The professional B2B website is rounded off by a comprehensive autocomplete search function specifically for products by name, item number, area of application, etc.

All product data and assets for the online platform come directly from the integrated PIM/DAM system in six languages and are continuously updated. Editorial content such as company information, trade fairs, news, etc. is maintained via a headless CMS. All content can be freely combined via a shared page builder to create the required pages, enabling efficient, highly flexible and target group-specific design of the B2B online presence. The complete solution for KIEHL is operated and managed in the cloud by infolox.

The launch of the new online platform with the INFOLOX Omnichannel Box, the accompanying introduction of the PIM/DAM system viamedici EPIM and the phasing out of the aforementioned print documents are just the start of a large-scale digitisation offensive at KIEHL. In line with the motto "first the compulsory, then the freestyle", further customer processes are now being analysed step by step and gradually digitised on the platform. Because, according to KIEHL's philosophy, it is only through the combination of product and application knowledge that the ideal solution for customers can be created.

50,000 data sheets at the touch of a button – INFOLOX implements PIM2PDF process for Kermi shower design in 3 weeks

In just three weeks, hundreds of hours of manual InDesign work were replaced by intelligent and automated processes. The basis for this was the PXP Cockpit with integrated PIM2PDF library from INFOLOX. The PXP Cockpit from INFOLOX is the "single source of truth" for all imports, exports, interfaces and API2API processes between PIM, DAM, CMS, SHOP and ERP. For the fully automated creation of data sheets, price lists, catalogues, etc. as PDF and/or InDesign, the Cockpit draws on a library of display modules that has grown over 20 years.
