Pimcore: The all-in-one platform for PIM, MDM, DAM, CMS and e-commerce

Pimcore – The All-in-One Product Experience Platform (PXP)

Pimcore is an open-source digital experience platform that combines product information management (PIM), digital asset management (DAM), content management (CMS), master data management (MDM) and a flexible e-commerce framework in one solution. The Symfony-based architecture and API-first orientation (REST & GraphQL) make Pimcore a future-proof platform for seamless, cross-channel product and brand experiences – without licence fees and with full control over the data.

Key modules and functions:

  • PIM (Product Information Management): Centralised management of all product data (features, descriptions, translations, prices, etc.) for all channels – from web shops and print catalogues to marketplaces. Pimcore allows highly complex data models and variants to be mapped and efficiently maintained through flexible workflow processes.
  • DAM (Digital Asset Management): Integrated media library for images, videos, documents and graphics. All digital assets are centrally organised, searchable and directly linked to the associated products or content. This ensures that the right image is always used for the right product – in every channel.
  • CMS & eCommerce: Powerful headless CMS for web content paired with a modular e-commerce framework. Pimcore enables you to create appealing websites, customer portals or online shops – including personalisation functions (target group-specific content) and search/filter features. Thanks to the API approach, front ends can be freely selected (e.g. React/Next.js) or you can use Pimcore's own Twig-based templates.
  • MDM (Master Data Management): Management of any master data beyond the product – such as customer data, supplier information or location data – in the Data Objects module. This multi-domain MDM makes Pimcore the central data hub in the company, with consistent "golden records" for each object.
  • APIs & Integrations: Pimcore is fundamentally API-driven. All functions can be used headless and external systems can be seamlessly connected via REST and GraphQL interfaces. Whether ERP, CRM, external shops or specialised services – Pimcore integrates easily into existing IT landscapes thanks to webhooks, import/export tools and connectors.

Target groups & application scenarios: Pimcore's flexible all-in-one structure is particularly suitable for companies with complex products and diverse channels. Typical users are B2B manufacturers and retailers who need to efficiently manage large product portfolios and deliver them consistently worldwide (web, mobile, print, marketplace). Industrial companies and technology providers also use Pimcore to build extensive product portals or spare parts catalogues, for example. In the B2C/D2C sector, brands benefit from seamlessly connecting content and commerce – Pimcore provides the central backend to merge inspiring content pages with shoppable products, for example. In short: Pimcore offers the ideal data and content basis for all kinds of omnichannel projects (from online shops to customer portals to apps), especially when standard solutions reach their limits.

Technology & Advantages: Pimcore was designed as a "best of both worlds" solution: it combines the depth of specialised systems (PIM, DAM, etc.) with the advantages of a unified platform. For developers, this means a familiar Symfony stack, clearly structured code, and full extensibility. There are virtually no limits to your own plugins, bundles or integrations – from customising the admin interface to developing new modules, Pimcore can be expanded as needed. At the same time, the platform is headless-capable and MACH-compatible (microservices, API-first, cloud-native, headless), enabling the creation of modern composable architectures. For businesses, Pimcore reduces system fragmentation: Instead of laboriously connecting separate solutions for PIM, CMS, shop, etc., they get a centralised system that unifies all data and content. This increases data quality, shortens time-to-market (e.g. new products appear synchronously online and in the catalogue) and reduces operating costs in the long term. Agencies and integrators also appreciate Pimcore for its active open-source community and the freedom to tailor solutions without licence barriers – more budget goes into functionality instead of fees.

Our Pimcore partnership: As a certified Pimcore partner (Gold status) with over 20 years of experience in PIM/DAM projects, we have added Pimcore to our portfolio as a strategic platform. Since 2024, we have been integrating Pimcore into our Product Experience Platform (PXP) solutions and the INFOLOX Omnichannel Box. This means that Depending on customer requirements, we either use Pimcore as a best-of-suite complete solution – or we combine it best-of-breed with other headless systems (such as specialised shops or CMS). This flexibility allows us to design the optimal architecture for each customer. Together with Pimcore, we have already implemented numerous successful projects, ranging from international B2B product portals to complex content commerce platforms. Our close partnership with Pimcore gives us direct access to the latest innovations on the platform – and thus gives our customers a decisive advantage in their digital strategy.
